President's Trip To India Signals Positive Change

President Barack Obama’s trip to India is scheduled to officially begin today and is sure to be the topic of the weekend as he arrives in Mumbai on November 6, 2010.  His mission: to solidify trade and economic relations between the two Democratic Nations.  This move comes days after his party suffered staggering defeats in the run for the senate.  As a master of his craft however, President Obama is continuing his campaign trail in hopes of creating a positive change to Indian and American relations.  During Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit to Washington a year ago, President Obama declared the partnership with India as “one of the defining relationships of the 21st century”. The president has repeatedly stated his support for India’s rise as a global power, echoing former national security advisor Condoleezza Rice, who was one of the first to famously state America’s readiness to assist the growth of India’s global expansion.
